Admissions Process
For Students Requiring a Thai Student Visa

Phase 1:

  1. Prospective student, recruitment staff or study abroad counseling center send initial documentation to BHLS’ Admissions Office for verification:
    • Copy of a valid passport or ID card
    • Copy of certificate/ diploma obtained
    • Copy of transcript of certificate/diploma attained
    • IELTS result or English test equivalent to IELTS or BHLS in-house English test result
    • Curriculum Vitae.
    • Work references (if applicable)
    • BHLS application form with student signature
  2. The Admissions Office will make an “Offer Letter” based on the student’s qualifications from the documents received.
  3. The Admissions Office informs the Finance Office to make an invoice for 1st payment of initial fees.
  4. The Admissions Office will send an “Offer Letter” and 1st invoice within 72 hours after receiving all the documentation.

Phase 2:

  1. After receiving our “Offer Letter” and 1st Invoice, prospective student will be requested to sign the “Offer Letter” and send the “Offer Letter” back to BHLS Admissions Office along with making the deposit of the 1st initial payment within two weeks.
  2. After receiving the first payment, the Finance Office will send the official receipt of payment and the Admissions Office will send the “Admission Letter.”

Phase 3:

  1. Kindly contact the BHLS Admissions Office to arrange your arrival date before purchasing the transport ticket to come to Thailand. The Admissions Office will prepare an arrival plan. We will be waiting to welcome you at BHLS campus where your residence is located.
  2. Upon arriving in Thailand, the Registrar will send information of class schedule, study plan, resources (if any), guidelines of Registrar, etc. to students.

Phase 2:

  1. After receiving our “Offer Letter” and 1st Invoice, the prospective student will be requested to sign the “Offer Letter” and send the “Offer Letter” back to BHLS Admissions Office along with making the deposit of the 1st initial payment within two weeks.
  2. After receiving the first payment, the Finance Office will send the official receipt of payment and the Admissions Office will guide the prospective student in preparing the visa application at the request of the Embassy and the Export Administration Immigration.
  3. The Admissions Office will send a checklist of required documents and the prospective student must send a complete scanned copy of the required visa documents to the Admissions Office for checking and scheduling a visa trial interview with a school representative. The List of Required Documents is located in the next section.
  4. If the visa trial interview and the visa documents are confirmed to be complete, the Admissions Office will issue all other relevant documents (Admission Letter, Payment Receipt, Authorization Letter, Residence Letter, etc.) that are required for the visa to the prospective student.

Phase 3:

  1. Prospective students must apply for Thai Student Visa at the Thai Embassy in your home country. After receiving all the necessary documents from the Admissions Office, students must schedule an appointment with Thai Embassy to submit the visa application.
  2. The student must submit all required documents and attend an interview at the Thai Embassy. All visa required documents must be in English or officially translated in English and notarized.
    Students must inform the Admissions Office after they have submitted all the required documents and attended the interview at the Thai Embassy in their home country.
  3. It takes a minimum of 2-to 3-months to receive the Thai Student Visa result from the Migration Office in Thailand.
  4. The Admissions Office will follow-up with the BHLS’ School Secretary to check on the status of the student visa with the Migration Office in Thailand.
  5. If the Migration Office in Switzerland needs more information, the Admissions Office and BHLS’ School Secretary will support the student in preparing any needed information and provide a letter to the Migration Office.

Phase 4:

  1. When the Migration Office approves the student visa:
    • The Admissions Office will inform the student and Finance to issue the student an invoice for the 2nd total fees payment.
    • The balance of your total fees must be paid after BHLS has presented a proof of your visa confirmation but not later than 4 weeks prior to the term commencement date.
  2. Upon receiving full payment, BHLS will issue a Confirmation of Full Payment (CFP) letter and will send it directly to the Thai Embassy in your home country so you may receive your visa stamp. After that, you may book your flight ticket.
  3. Kindly contact BHLS Admissions Office to arrange your arrival date before purchasing the flight ticket. The Admissions Office will prepare an arrival plan once the student purchases the flight ticket to Phuket airport, where we will be waiting to welcome you and transfer you to your residence.
  4. Upon arriving in Thailand, the Registrar will send information of class schedule, training plan, resources (if any), guidelines of Registrar, etc. to students.

Required Documents

Documents for BHLS Application
  • Copy of a valid passport or ID card

  • Curriculum Vitae
  • Work references (if applicable)

Documents Usually  Needed for Visa Application
  • Three (3) national visa applications, visa form “D”.
  • Three (3) photographs no more than 6-months old, 35mm x 45mm, white background, your face, from the top of the head to the bottom of the chin, should measure between 29mm to 35mm, sharp focus and clear.
  • Passport with a minimum validity of 12 months and issued in the past 10 years, original and 2 photocopies.
  • Proof of sufficient finances: original bank statement or savings book in the Student’s own name (a minimum of 000 THB as required for most countries needing a visa) in an international bank which is recognized/trustworthy in Thailand. ** Please note: on a case-by-case basis BHLS will allow students to prove their finances at the visa application stage instead of initial BHLS application stage.
  • Candidate’s latest highest educational certificates.
  • Acceptance / confirmation / registration letter from the school in Thailand (BHLS).
  • Confirmation of payment of school tuition fees from the school in Thailand (BHLS).
  • Curriculum vitae / résumé.
  • Motivation letter explaining why the Candidate would like to pursue his/her studies in Thailand.
  • Letter to confirm that the Candidate will leave Thailand after he/she completes the chosen course study.

Note: 

  • All documents must be officially translated into English and notarized. All documents required to be translated into Thai  and notarized when required by the Thai Immigration.
  • The list of documents above is a general example. Please check at the local embassy website for local regulations.  In case of conflict, contact BHLS and we will discuss with the respective embassy.
Documents to be Prepared for Your Arrival in Thailand (and After Visa Approval)
  • Application for residence permit has to be submit in the city hall office of the residence address within 2 weeks after arrival in Thailand (fee depends on specific part of the district).
  • Medical insurance (approved by Thailand) is mandatory. And has to be proven to the district within 2 weeks of arriving in Thailand. BHLS will not be responsible for students’ lack of medical insurance if the student doesn’t buy the insurance package offered included in the Operation Expenses listed on Tuition & Fees.
