BHLS’ Career Centre has the resources you need, from workshops to individualized support, as you explore career options and job opportunities. As a BHLS graduate, you have access to career services for life.

BHLS Career Center aspires to prepare BHLS students and alumni for career transition over a lifetime and develop workplace skills to thrive as professionals and social change agents in organizations and communities.  To accomplish this mission, we deliver global career resources and promote applied learning as a central component of proactive career management.

Workshops

BHLS offers several workshops to assist BHLS students and alumni to assist them with their career management.

Career Exploration

Are you looking for new tools to identify career options in your current or future field? Seeking to uncover job opportunities working inside or tips to boost your job search effort? Then this program is for you. Today will we will help you take your career management to the next level.

Our objectives are to gain tools to research careers, employers and jobs, and learn how to use proactive strategies such as social media and networking to uncover new opportunities. We will review resources and strategies to help you research key information as part of your overall job search, career management strategy and answer your specific questions.

Job Search Strategies << NEW

In this workshop, we will cover a few important topics, such as, how to prepare yourself for the job search, how to conduct a job search, what to do when you find a job to apply for, why you need to research the company you wish to work for and how to use online job boards, followed by a question and answer session.

Write a Winning Résumé/Curriculum Vitae(CV)

During this workshop, we will explore the résumé/curriculum vitae (CV) resources and review general résumé/CV tips. The remainder of the time will be spent answering your résumé/CV questions.

How to Write a Custom Cover Letter

In this workshop, we will cover a few important topics, such as, why cover letters are important and the purpose they serve, what to include in a cover letter, ways you can use your cover letter to showcase your qualifications, understand that a cover letter shouldn’t be a challenge to write and a question and answer session.

Interview Preparation

In this workshop, we will cover a few important topics, such as, how to prepare for an interview, what to do the night before and the morning of the interview, how to practice traditional and behavioural questions, what to bring to your interview, what questions should you bring to the interview, how to thank the interviewer and what to do after the interview, followed by a question and answer session.

How to Write Letters of Recommendation

In this workshop, we will cover a few important topics, such as, what is a letter of recommendation and why you would need a letter, how to request a letter of recommendation from a faculty member or a colleague at work, know what information you need to provide to the person giving the recommendation and what to do after you have requested a recommendation letter, followed by a question and answer session.

Career Opportunities

Together with MGW Education Group, BHLS provides global career and placement support opportunities for BHLS graduates after completing their program of study at BHLS.

BHLS also works with numerous international placement agencies that specialize in placing graduate students in Europe, Asia, Australia, Middle East and the Americas. This service includes preparing resumes and applications, tips for job interviews, job prospecting, and preparing extensive documentation for visa and work permit applications.

BHLS also offers career days for employers to come to BHLS and recruit students for their internship and job opportunities directly on campus as well as BHLS participates in numerous career fairs to expose its graduates to global career opportunities.
